AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT 32B Support Discontinuation: Next Steps
Posted on February 8, 2019 by Synergis Helpdesk Technician, Mark Lancaster
On December 17th, Autodesk announced in the next release (2020 product line), AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT product line will no longer be offered for 32B operating systems. This is a global change and impacts not only subscribers, but those who still maintain a perpetual or have a student/educational license.
What does that mean for you?
Subscribers and perpetual users with active maintenance plans:
Currently running on a 32B machine: In order to upgrade to the 2020 product line (when it’s released), you must upgrade your hardware and/or your Windows operating system. However, you can continue to use your entitled legacy versions (on a 32B PC) as allowed per the terms of your subscription or maintenance plan.
Support for entitled legacy products running on 32B operating systems will continue to be supported by Autodesk.
Products such as DWG Trueview, which uses AutoCAD as a backbone, will also no longer be supported under the 32B operating system when the 2020 product line is released.
