Single-User License – Losing your license when disconnected from the Internet?

Losing your license when disconnected from the internet can happen for multiple reasons. To help prevent this, here are a few things to consider before leaving the office.

Solution #1:
Users not being an administrator on their machines, and/or not having full access to the following locations.

  • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk
  • C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet
  • C:\Program Files\Autodesk
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared

Solution #2:
Devices attached to your machine may have alter the settings on your NIC Card preventing the cached license from validating the card and license.

Docking Stations:
If you’re using a docking station, close the application then undock from the docking station. Lunch the application to see if you still have a license. If not, connect to the internet again (WITHOUT using the docking station) to get a license, then disconnect from the internet again.

NIC Card settings:
Open Windows Devices, expand Network adapters, then right-click your NIC Card and choose properties. On the Power Management tab, uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”
